Zombie Horde descends on small town.
GIBSONS, BC. October 6th, 2012
The cozy coastal town of Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast BC Canada was overrun by a horde of Zombies on the afternoon of October 6th, when the 5th Annual Zombie Walk aka Day of the Z hit town.
This year the Saturday afternoon event went forward under new organizers, still thanking the originals Zombie force for a great job over the past 4 years.

As with most Zombie walks, it is a totally volunteer run event, with a nice charitable side, with donations for the local foodbank as entry fees, and support from a local business the IGA Marketplace in Gibsons for drinks for all participants, so a shout out to them for supporting this fun family event.

This year had several family groups “Zombie-ing” together which gave a few observers reasons for double-takes it seems, as the shambling, gurgling, growling horde made their way through town.
The group started from the IGA Marketplace mall down to the Sunnycrest Mall, past the Health and Wellness fair and back again in search of brains with the volunteer squad keeping an eye out for those with the best costumes and zombie walks in the child and adult categories.

After returning to their point of origin the award ceremony took place with the horde choosing the winners from those nominated with the group judging costumes and the Zombie walks that caught the attention of the volunteers.

Favorite Quote from one of the people the horde shambled past:
“I thought this kind of thing only happened in places like Vancouver.”
I wonder if the Zombies found any brains?
I am looking for any eyewitnesses who can report first hand on what they have seen! Please post a comment below…..
