I love that people genuinely care about issues you might be dealing with and are extremely supportive. Health issues can floor any of us, but by keeping positive and keeping positive friends and health care workers in your world, one can overcome pretty much anything.

What’s not to love here! We have beautiful oceans, with wonderful lakes not to far. The people are amazing and keep so in touch with everyone. Some of the best sunsets are seen from Davis bay. Great hikin and outdoor adventures. And if you really need the city it’s 40 minutes away! Cleanest water! I love it here!

I have done a lot of travelling & seen some pretty amazing people, places and things, but nothing can compare to the feeling of absolute awe I get when I am on that ferry after being away and catching a glimpse of Mount Elphinstone in all it’s glory & knowing that I have arrived home. What is there not to love about the Coast. There are no words to describe it, i just feel it & know I am right where I belong!
Elaine Tweats Hunter
I sold everything I owned in Ottawa which included a business and home. Put my 2 goldens in the car and drove out to the Sunshine Coast December 2006, It was a magical journey but honestly when I arrived at my new home I felt like my entire life had been an arrow to get me here. This is one amazing powerful place, full of wonderful communities, natural beauty, wildlife, nightsky, people that smile at you even though they do not know you and an opportunity to spread our creative wings as far as they will reach.
Alexandria Wells

Honestly the Sunshine Coast is heaven on earth. My love for it first began when my boyfriend, my now husband, took me there and taught me how to fish. Three years later he proposed at Secret Beach in Gibsons. We now have a son, and are looking forward to visiting the coast every summer. I would love to win this dinner so that we can show how peaceful and wonderful this area is to our parents. And perhaps convince them to move there, because that’s the only reason we haven’t moved to the Sunshine Coast already!
Erin Linster Lane
the fresh air and serenity of mother nature at its best! Heaven!
Rhys Rigid-Digit Edwards
what i love about the coast, is being able to see stars on a clear night.. Which is not really possible here in vancouver

Oh my lord, what’s not to love! The ocean, the ocean creatures, the wonderful and diverse people. The shops the wharfs! I use to live there and actually miss it everyday! Now I live in the prairies with my 3 kids who have never seen or touched the ocean, and would love to come and show them the piece of heaven I always tell them about!!!!! Good excuse to get our butts back out there!!!!!! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

We moved to the Sunshine Coast 2 years ago from Victoria – the best choice we have ever made. I love the serenity, the daily overt beauty of our surroundings, the amazingly friendly people and the backcountry right at your doorstep. Best place on earth as far as we are concerned.
Lilli NoEnbridge Vandermeer
we just moved here a few months ago, and i love the waking up to the ocean everyday…
Roberta Dale Phelps
I grew up on the Sunshine Coast, my son was born there, we moved away about 10 years ago, and I will always miss my ocean! The coast was a fantastic place to grow up, our family almost knew it all from end to end, LOL. Great memories of picking oysters off the beach at Davis Bay, years ago, watching the boys leap off the Davis Bay wharf, picnicking at Porpoise Bay, fishing for red snapper up the inlet, so much to do on the Sunshine Coast.. I would love to come back for a visit and win this tour, would be PERFECT!
Aurora Dawn Fitzgerald
home is where the heart is:)

I’m from Nova Scotia, and am torn between the two coasts. Each province has its spectacular and unique attractions and they also share some of the more endearing features/qualities such as the friendliness, history, etc.
I’ve been a fan of the Sunshine Coast since my teens, watching the Beachcombers since then. And now, I’ve lived in Gibsons since 1996 and have totally enjoyed it.
Brenda Ewen
the people!!
Bev MacKay
The water, the lush landscape, the people, small town but close to city. I moved away from the ocean for a long time, but I never forgot the smell and the ocean called me back…..

there are soo many beautiful and wonderful things to say about the place we live. the lush greenery awesome trails, amazing creek systems, mushroom picking(of course while enjoying a great hike) on top of all the other edible eats that can be found everywhere there. I love the peacefulness and the smells. Something about feeling a connection with nature along the Sunshine Coast recharges me quite nicely.
Credible Versace Lickemia Hulk
I love the rainforest, the living cedar trees, eagles, whales, dolphins……are such a part of our day to day lives, and I know I take it for granted, for different reasons. I do not have the privilege of travel, but I have been many places, and I am always wanting to see and do so much more, here! Because there is soooo much to see!
Robb Tidd

… a world within a world
Jackie Phelan
Been on the Sunshine Coast as a permanent resident for 25 years. It’s still a beautiful place to live and a lovely place to raise children or to retire. Unfortunately, as the ferry fares continue to rise, it’s getting a little difficult to commute to the mainland.
Val Enevoldson Bowen
I love the coast but it has grown soooo much since I moved here in ’74. It has lost alot of its small town charm…with too many people moving here and trying to change it. Love all the oldtimers that still remember what it once was.
Julia Poole
I love the scenery and tranquility I find when on the coast. It is a great escape from the city life and right in my own back yard.
Selina August
Being a Shishalh nation member having lived in our traditional territory rich of culture and genuine pure natural beauty throughout our traditional homelands is a ginormous reward on its own. Even living here our entire lives where our ancestors have born and raised us, when we leave the coast, and I bet I can speak for majorityof born and raised here, we will always come back and return to the sound of the eagles that soar our father sky, guiding and protecting us. Not to mention being surrounded by 2 powerful waters. Its priceless to live in the land between two waters. I believe we have a strong united community. As a childhood memory being at our beach at the waterfront all day every day and then lying on the cement hot road to dry off, or winter time sleigh riding any hill, enjoying the changes of the four seasons winter fall spring summer. Not very many places has the joy of seeing our beautiful changes whether it be color of the leaves, smell of the flowers, berry picking, hunting. You name it we got it!!!
Mae’xeyetel Jason Thompson
its not the city! a place to get away
Tiffany Hansen
The Sunshine Coast is the place I have called home for over 20 years – I could not imagine growing up anywhere else. So thank you to my parents for bringing us here! Now I am raising my son here and it is such a safe, wonderful, place to still call home. ♥ I would love to win this spectacular offer so I can finally explore the places I have been missing out on! So great to see the Community always giving to others!

I love the Sunshine Coast because it is not only where I live but it’s also where my heart is. Coming from abroad, living here, surrounded by mountains, forest, ocean, and wildlife, is like a dream come true. Calling the Sunshine Coast my home is a privilege.
Steven Adamson
What I love about the sunshine coast no longer exists. Far to many NIMBYs and haters live there now. Whiners and welfare. OH now don’t get all in a hissy fit. There are still good man and women out there but they are rare.
Being smothered by utopian dogma does not make utopia, it merely makes one smothered.
Shannon Markham
What do I love about the coast? Well what do I not love would be an easier question to answer…maybe.I love that even on the rainiest days the smell of the forest and the fresh cool air. The fact that on a super hot day one can go into the forest and it is cool and beautiful and relaxing. I live in Powell River and we have so many lakes and the ocean right at our side which gives us limitless choices for fishing, swimming and the old fall back, beach combing. I love that even in the dead of winter our grass is still green and I hardly ever have to pull out the winter parka, but if I want to play int the snow it is just a short drive up the mountain to go sledding and snow fort building. Our most favorite times are when we take the boat on the ocean and explore the coast and try to catch a glimpse of a whale or dolphin. Watching otters on the beach are never a disappointment as they vault over rocks and logs and chirp and squeak at each other. What I don’t love….having to go to work and not enjoy more of our coast!

What I love about the Sunshine Coast is that I was born there and love going back to visit. I love the brilliant scenery. I love being on the ocean and out on the water. I have many friends and family that I love to visit and catch up with. I don’t go back nearly enough. It’s also a nice relaxed and layed back approach to life which I love too♥

Love the fact i can get to the beach or out to the lake .. without fighting my way thru traffic .. how the community comes together for each other in a time of need , weather it be a fundraiser or helping out a neighbour find their lost pet ..we moved our kids here in 93 from Surrey. And they have grown now and flown the nest. I am so happy to have raised my kids here. In a community they can Always call home

Melodie Pierre
I love how where ever you go there is still fresh greenery and old rain forest to venture into. As well as the rich history of the Shishalh ancestors who inhabited the Inlet and left their mark on the many pictographs along the inlet ♥ Such a beautiful and pristine place we live and was once the “best kept secret” but our many beautiful sunset pictures shared have so many visitors from near and far.
Jerry Coulson
What I love about the Sunshine Coast is its serenity; what makes it so tranquil is a combination of many things, the natural surroundings, the people, the pace of life, the wildlife (I just saw two deer down the street this morning), close to the city yet remote, by far the nicest place I have ever lived.
Andi Unger
My family has been here since the fifties. When I visit on the weekends I see it with new eager eyes every time. There is and will always be new angles from which to admire the utter beauty of the coast and what it has to offer. This is the place I would finally love to settle down in. This is home!!

AliceAnd Dave Bailor
I love everything about the Sunshine Coast- there is no feeling like when you have left and then when you are boarding the ferry at Horseshoe Bay- knowing that Gibson’s if only 40 minutes away- the drive up to Earl’s Cove is spectacular- then boarding the ferry to come home to Powell River- my heart starts to sing- almost home!!!! Some of my favorite places are Eagle River, Ruby Lake, Sakinaw Lake, Pender Harbour and the sea wall in Powell River– I could keep going on and on about some of my favorite places- but to sum it up – there are alot of people that make this place so special and of course the scenery and all the water that make this a superb place to live or visit!
Rachel D Manley
I love how everyone knows your name and smiles at you at the store, I love taking the kids to the best beach parks ever (the Sea Dragon Park and Porpoise Bay), camping at Klein Lake, swimming at Coopers Green and Ruby Lake, hanging out in Roberts Creek, watching the Sunset in Davis Bay, singing Karaoke at the Legion, dancing whenever and wherever possible, shopping in Gibsons, eating breakfast at Sirens, crabbing in Porpoise Bay, Playing in the Luminessence in Storm Bay, kayaking Sechelt Inlet, hiking out to Chapman Falls, and driving all the way to then end of the road in Egmont just to chat with a loved one. Is there a better place on Earth then the Sunshine Coast, I think not!

For the first time in 12 yrs since moving to the lower mainland I took the opportunity to visit this amazing area. Now, since leaving, all I’ve thought about is I need to go back to the Sunshine Coast. You travel to find that one place then realize you don’t have to because it’s in your backyard. The people, the water, the mountains, the breathtaking scenery and just the amazing sense of peaceful calm truly makes this area, in my heart, my place, my heaven.
Erin Kellie
Beautiful place and beautiful people!

I have been to many inland communities but you can’t beat the smell of the sea air. I couldn’t live where I couldn’t smell the air. See the mountains or the trees. The coast is the best place to live.

I LOVE how close the coast is to the big city, but yet still so FAR away. It can be a wonderful balance for those that crave a little city, but love a lot of community.
Janice Beaudry Attle
Duane, I read all the post people write about the Sunshine Coast but the only way to truly know the coast is to live here. It becomes part of you and when you have to leave for a day or so there is such a wonderful feeling when you return home. Words can`t describe, it is something you feel.
Coralee Hubenig
I was born and raised on the Coast but after moving to Saltspring Island I have slowly become an islander. This trip would sure help re-kindle my love for the coast and the people there

I know 5 family members there that would be greatful to go on this trip with me.
Judith Thibault
I came here 20 years ago and have never looked back. I love it here. It is truly paradise.

What do I love about the SUnshine Coast?? The groups of children that play around the neighborhood in Halfmoon Bay and we have a whole community that watches all of them. Pleasant Ville it is!

After spending 30 years living between the cold unfriendly Vancouver and the warm and friendly but very isolating (esp. in winter) Hornby Island, I have discovered the jewel that is the Sunshine Coast.
People are warm, friendly and casual, giving the feel of the gulf islands. If I need to visit friends in Vancouver, it’s just a short ferry ride away. I love waking up every morning to views of the ocean and mountains. I love that there are forested trails and wonderful hikes just a few short minutes away. I love living somewhere where I can do all the things I love -biking, hiking, scuba diving, kayaking, canoeing and swimming! How wonderful it is to just stroll down the road and go for a swim every day in summer! I love feeling surrounded by green… being surrounded by forests and plants… how lovely it is to live somewhere where I can harvest nettles and fresh young greens in the spring, berries in the summer and medicinal roots in the fall and winter!
I love going in to a clothing store and listening others trying on fancy high heeled shoes only to joke and exclaim “where would I wear these on the coast?”, and knowing that these are my kind of people!
love how warm, friendly and supportive my new sunshine coast massage clients are… they make it feel easy to be the newbie in town!
I love how rich and full my days are. For example yesterday: walk through the woods and along the beach, bike ride to the local farms for fresh food, gardening, soames hill hike and an evening swim. How blessed am I?? wow. I love living somewhere that makes me feel like I’m on vacation 24/7. ♥♥♥

There are definitely a lot of reasons we all love the Sunshine Coast, and call it home. All the fantastic people who live here and come to visit are such a huge part of it! Lucky’s Smokehouse couldn’t do it without you!
Michelle McCartney
One I have not had a Lucky’s smokehouse meal yet and I moved here for one reason the beauty of everyday living, have the elk herd in back yard, have several bears one with a cub where else can you be to see that much beauty in one day no where but here
Frances Kuer

What do I love about the coast… I love that you can wake up from your tent at 5am to the most peaceful calm ever imagined. Walk to the beach to discover life on the shore. Sitting and watching the waves when out of no where a huge bald eagle swoops down so close in front of you to grab breakfast that was laying on the shore. ♥
Delaina-Lu Gamblin
I love our sunshine coast for many things. One thing I adore is going to the grocery store, gas station, hardware store, coffee shops, well most everywhere and know folks by name. We chat and laugh and most often give and get hugs ! This makes our sunny coast even warm in winter.

I LOVE THE COAST IT IS A PEACEFUL FRIENDLY WELCOMING PLACE TO VISIT OR IF YOU HAVE THE LUCK TO LIVE THERE
Sunshine Coast Tours has some terrific excursion, including this one!
The experience is unique in the area and highlights some of the best sightseeing the Sunshine Coast has to offer. Everyone who visits here should get out on the water for a special outing. Pick one of our 2 tour options. Both tours start at the government dock in Porpoise Bay.

Susan Hatchard Bear
There is something very magical about the Sunshine Coast, and it’s impossible to articulate through words alone. One would have to be a poet, musician, artist, dancer, chef, fisherman, paddler, dog walker, beach comber, mountain biker, trail hiker, scuba diving story teller, romantic to do so!
Charmaine Nooski
I love the beaches, the people and Calvary chapel, and my friends and family

Encompassing 1555088 hectares, located in the southwest corner of British Columbia, there lay a small piece of perfected paradise. It is were the song sparrows and spotted towhees chirp a welcome tune to your arrival. Its is were the white-tailed deer make there grazing known to backyards of neighbouring residents. Bountiful in relation to the vast ocean; rich dungeon crab, healthy salmon, and endless amounts of trout. It is were giant cedar trees confine the deposits of towns and ignite daylight with their glowing green beauty. A place were one blackberry bush just isn’t enough. Bustling with a diverse and unique population of outgoing, happy, beachcombing people. They all have a place on this oasis. The Sunshine Coast District.
I love the sunshine coast because of it’s diverse biome. I love the sound of the birds when I first wake up in the morning to go to work. I love seeing a deer and holding her gaze until she slips away back into the forest. I love crabbing and fishing with my Dad on the Salish Sea in the hot, hot sun. I love walking through the forest and smelling the clean, crisp air that the cedar’s breath gives us. I love going any direction and never having to go hungry, there are always blackberries within walking distance. I love getting lost, because then I have an excuse to meet a fellow local who always has something to offer or teach. I love my home. The Sunshine Coast.
I have my doubts when it rains.

I used to live in Sechelt, such a beautiful place, peaceful, wonderful friendly folks. I had to move to find a job, but every time I go back to visit I fall in love all over again and wish I could have stayed! Love the Coast!
Pam Fominoff
I love the people of the Sunshine Coast, the elderly who have lived here and raised their families have such amazing stories to tell! Love the walks along the ocean where every single day you see something new! The eagles fishing off Ocean Beach Esplanade then taking their catch to their nest in the tree above where I walk. The otters frolicking in the ocean and playing on the rocks – we live in a magical place…….
Ange Cruikshank
I love being a part of a Community. The people of the Sunshine Coast are pretty amazing.

I love the scenery the coast has and the fresh air ocean and all the great people and the groups they have for young moms they make us young moms not feel so outta place
Tristan Nuttall
I Love how everyone on the coast is pretty chill
Brian Mackenzie
Nothing beats the mystical distance that the 40-minute ferry ride between the Coast and the mainland – through misty forested islands with little or no sign of human habitation – puts between this destination and everyday life… No matter how normal things on the Sunshine Coast apparently become, they are a much more enlivened shade of “normal” than the best of city living

I love the coast because my younger daughter was born there, the love of my life lives there, and because we are lucky enough to have a cottage on Keats Island. I would rather be with my family on a boat enjoying the Sunshine Coast sunshine than anywhere else in the world.

I’ve lived here for 38 years and even though I wasn’t born here, all I can say is “There’s no place like home”
I love the beautiful beaches
Honestly the Sunshine Coast is heaven on earth. My love for it first began when my boyfriend, my now husband, took me there and taught me how to fish. Three years later he proposed at Secret Beach in Gibsons. We now have a son, and are looking forward to visiting the coast every summer. I would love to win this dinner so that we can show how peaceful and wonderful this area is to our parents. And perhaps convince them to move there, because that’s the only reason we haven’t moved to the Sunshine Coast already!
the fresh air and serenity of mother nature at its best! Heaven!
what i love about the coast, is being able to see stars on a clear night.. Which is not really possible here in vancouver
Michelle Stephens Gibson
First time in 15 years I went out with my Bro fishing for a day…..it’s so easy to live here and forget what a beautiful place we are in ♥
just love the laid back feeling of the coast, that moves at it’s ownb pace in comparison to most other locations, it is a speacial place for people to enjoy and lose themselves in for a time.
We moved to the Sunshine Coast 2 years ago from Victoria – the best choice we have ever made. I love the serenity, the daily overt beauty of our surroundings, the amazingly friendly people and the backcountry right at your doorstep. Best place on earth as far as we are concerned.
Colleen Carpenter
The best place to stay grounded…….beautiful views everywhere
I love the peacefulness and the smells. Something about feeling a connection with nature along the Sunshine Coast recharges me quite nicely.

I love the scenery and tranquility I find when on the coast. It is a great escape from the city life and right in my own back yard.

Here is a beautiful view from Look Out point here in Powell River after a small snow fall.
I love the Sunshine Coast because it is not only where I live but it’s also where my heart is. Coming from abroad, living here, surrounded by mountains, forest, ocean, and wildlife, is like a dream come true. Calling the Sunshine Coast my home is a privilege.

Dixie Manitobenis
Love it

What I love about the Sunshine Coast is its serenity; what makes it so tranquil is a combination of many things, the natural surroundings, the people, the pace of life, the wildlife (I just saw two deer down the street this morning), close to the city yet remote, by far the nicest place I have ever lived.
