Kim Rennie from Gibsons BC
What makes me laugh is when I do voice texts into my cell phone and see what it comes up with…it’s like a comedey show in my hand!!
Bring out your spare funny bones!
Lorne Elliott is set to send your giggles “madly off in all directions”.
With his barely tamed afro, his rubbery face and his miniature guitar, the Canadian musical comedian is the master of all that is silly, side-splitting and strange.
Humourist, storyteller, comedian and musician, LORNE ELLIOTT returns to the Sunshine Coast for an evening of comedic mayhem and superbly silly musical fun for the whole family.
His current show is a one-man performance of thought-provoking contemporary satire: witty, clever and fast-paced. Lorne’s CBC Radio Comedy series “Madly Off in all Directions“ was greeted with such enthusiastic audience response that the program went on for 11 Seasons. His latest project for CBC is titled “Chasing the Big Silly”.
Combining dry humour with musical numbers and skits, Elliott is a shrewd observer of the behaviour of the Canadian human animal. Often self-deprecating, always silly and never profane, Elliott’s funny is family friendly.
Well known as the host of his own CBC Radio Comedy Series which went on for 11 seasons, Elliott has been performing professionally on stage for more than two decades.
His ability to entertain is as keen as his wit.
Lorne has been featured on numerous Theatre Arts festivals, he is also an award-winning playwright and his plays are regularly produced across Canada.
Of his one-man performance reviewers have said :
“Unrelentingly hilarious “, Ottawa Citizen.
“A genuine and talented nut-case”, Halifax Daily News.
“His show runs the gamut from the sublime to the ridiculous, but all of it literally sucks laughter out of your face” Nfld Herald.
“Swift, original, quick-witted … thinks on his feet”, Silver Friedman of the New York city Original Improvisation.

LORNE ELLIOTT
Humourist, storyteller, comedian and musician, Canadian born LORNE ELLIOTT has performed all across Canada, the U.S. and Australia.
Starting as a writer and folk musician, he went on writing comedic material and staged it as one-man shows. The result of such training is a well crafted show of comedy & music theatre: totally original, entertaining and up-lifting.
His current concert performance is a one-man performance of humour, storytelling and music. The script is a work of thought-provoking contemporary satire: witty, clever and fast-paced. Lorne Elliott’s stage persona, a contrast of crazed intellectual and extravagant jester is both outlandish and charming. The performance is a blend of comedic mayhem and superbly silly performance art.
His work caught the attention of CBC Radio who aired one of his concert performances on “Definitely Not The Opera”: it was greeted with such enthusiasm all across the country that it was rebroadcast on “Sunday Showcase”and “Morningside”.
“Madly Off in all Directions” was Lorne’s own CBC Radio Comedy Series, it was greeted with such enthusiastic audience response that the program went on for 11 Seasons, till fall 2006. His latest project for CBC is titled “Chasing the Big Silly”.
Lorne has been featured on numerous Theatre Arts festivals, he is also an award-winning playwright and his plays are regularly produced across Canada.

What makes me laugh? Besides Lorne Elliott? British comedy (everything John Cleese, the movie Withnail and I, Absolutely Fabulous), The Office (TV show), the book Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott, and last but not least, my dear husband Peter!
What makes me laugh SO HARD, is when I realize I am laughing at something SO HILARIOUS that I can’t believe I am SO LUCKY to have that to laugh to…
Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, and Stephen Fry.
Plus Lorne Elliot and the guy who plays the Constable [George] on “Murdoch Mysteries” who currently does stand-up at comedy festivals.
The everyday things that are brought to our attention through the wit of another person that can allow us to laugh at ourselves.
Sharing old memories with friends and families of funny moments and also coming up with a pun or word play on the spur of the moment that catches everyone including yourself in a good laugh.
Funny pictures and comments that people make in our electronic world also adds some comic relief. I also appreciate a good standup comedian – particularly one time at Yuk Yuks when an old High School buddy was there with a group of my friends and was drunk and tried to heckal the comedians and they adlib slaughtered him until he was booted out – laughed so hard and still laugh thinking about it.
Arrogant worms and lorne Elliott

She doesn’t like to drink alone, so she gets us plastered too!”
Seeing my husband laugh and have such a wonderful time makes me laughter because my husband laughs right from down deep within where everyone around us notices when he laughs, as he gets so into the joke he can hardly breath from laughter..
What makes me laugh is my dog poncho. He is almost 2 now and I love watching the way he thinks. You can see it in his eyes when things click into place. Everyday is a new adventure to him, walking the trails every rock, branch is new. Watching the life in him is laughter everyday. *hugs* to my dog for the smiles everyday

many things but seeing other people laughing
I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person. I also love watching Dogs laugh, but they laugh with their tails.
What makes me laugh and I mean really laugh: Is the sound of a baby laughing hysterically!
Farting…..it makes everyone laugh!
Astronomy.
I mean… Uranus!
