Sechelt Casino and Indoor Water Park Proposed

I finally found out what’s happening!

Lots of rumours over the past few years about what’s happening at the vacant property next to the Sechelt Hospital; including a Walmart.

Recently the former Sechelt Employment Centre building was torn down and before that a trailer park and gas station too, as the land has been slowly cleared and cleaned up; ramping up speculation in the community!!!

During my morning coffee at the Daily Roast I overhead a conversation about a Sechelt Casino, indoor water park with wave pool, water slides plus twin affordable housing complexes for the employees.

So I pretended to be going to the washroom to check out the development plans they had spread out across the coffee table.

One of the group recognized me so that gave me an opportunity to be a nosy parker!

This vacant property in Sechelt next to the Hospital along the Sunshine Coast Highway 101 has long been the subject of speculation by the community. They were looking at schematics of a proposed Sechelt Casino and Indoor Water Park development put together by A.P. Rhillph Houles Architects and Associates.

I am most impressed with the forward thinking of the shishalh Nation to include affordable housing for employees in a commercial development. BRILLIANT!

Sounds like an exciting addition to Sechelt and the Sunshine Coast BC!

What do you think?

It’s Always A Good Day on the Sunshine Coast!
